I've been at Orchard for over 4 years. An old work friend joined Orchard a few months before me and recommended them as a good company to work for. I can honestly say it's the best career move I've made.
I am a Support Delivery Consultant.
I like working at Orchard. Our new office is top notch so it's a very pleasant environment to work in. It's also located in the town centre so it's easy to get to and convenient if you need anything in town. The people are really friendly and it's just generally a really nice place to work.
Primarily I handle 2nd line technical support for the BPM Toolkit and RAD Products. I also get involved with a bit of consultancy work which is carrying out work for customers that falls outside of the remit for support.
The most rewarding part of the job is getting feedback from customers to let you know that what you've done has really made the difference. Not just for them but for their end users as well.
The best parts about being at Orchard in general are the people and the culture. The people are really supportive of each other at Orchard. When I first joined there was no pressure put on me to get up to speed. Instead Orchard knew it would take time for me to settle in and develop so they focus on helping me do. I think that stems from the culture that has been installed since it was founded. There is an natural emphasis on treating people as people, as opposed to cogs in a machine. I've worked at bigger companies before and you do feel like you're just a number there. At Orchard you're a person, everyone is and they are treated as such.
I've matured as a person. At Orchard there are some incredibly talented people who I've had the pleasure of working closely with. Over the years I've learnt a lot from them. I feel like I've grown more as a person at Orchard than at any other company I've worked at so far.
