Midland Heart has joined the growing list of Registered Social Landlords that are using OpenAccounts through Orchard.
As one of the top ten housing and care organisations in the UK, Midland Heart owns and manages more than 32,000 homes across 54 local authority areas, investing in excess of £100 million each year in its neighbourhoods.
The ‘Midland Heart Way’ is to help transform lives and communities through housing, care and more. Its vision is to be the leading national housing and care business working with those in greatest need. Its approach is built around five interrelated values: Customer First; Ambition; Imagination; Empowerment; and Inclusive. These values form the foundations for the business, truly demonstrating its passion for working with, and for, communities.
Value for money and financial transparency is also an important aspect for Midland Heart and as such, has begun to implement the OpenAccounts finance solution through us. This covers 40 core finance users as well as 400 procurement users. Midland Heart wanted a straightforward, easy to maintain system that would reduce its administration and control costs. With a single, legal entity but over 60 Mutuals running their own set of accounts, a flexible chart of accounts was essential.
Faye Harris, Business Transformation Consultant at Midland Heart said, “We chose Orchard to deliver the implementation of our new Finance and Procurement system due to their straight forward approach to system development and project management. From experience, all too often there can be an air of ambiguity within supplier proposals to deliver large contracts which inevitably leads to conflict and out of control costs. We are still in the implementation phase of the project, however, to date I feel confident that what Orchard stated clearly they will deliver, they will in fact deliver!”
“In addition to the expected process support, efficiencies, controls and management information, Housing businesses today are looking to work with suppliers that add significant value to their operations. From a Finance perspective, this includes supporting increasingly complex organisational structures on a single platform, covering all processes through a unified chart of accounts”, said Joe Taylor, Sales Manager of Orchard. “Our solution and approach offers a comprehensive partnership to tackling the challenges we see in the sector.”
