Orchard recently attended the Dynamites16 awards ceremony at the Civic Centre, Newcastle and we were extremely proud to sponsor the Project of the Year award category.

Dynamo is the North East of England, industry led initiative to focus on the growth of our sector. Dynamo is made up of IT organisations and employers, technology hubs, education, local government and employer support initiatives.

The Dynamo Dynamites16 awards are the region’s only IT and Technology awards, now in its third year which showcased remarkable strength of the sector in the North East.

Over 300 guests attended the event to witness a range of innovative people and projects being awarded for the dynamic and cutting edge work they have achieved.

We proudly sponsored the Project of the Year award category (both corporate and public sector streams) and we were thrilled to present the awards to:

Accenture: Girls in STEM

Earlier this year Accenture created events to bring together 1,800 girls aged between 11 to 15 across the UK and Ireland to create digital apps and inspire future careers in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). During the events, the attendees had the opportunity to try coding, take part in workshops and hear from inspirational speakers from the STEM sector.

Accenture: Personal Tax Accountant

HMRC have revolutionised the tax system transforming tax administration so it is more effective, more efficient and easier for taxpayers.  This was achieved through its better use of data, and presenting digitally the data it holds, HMRC believes it will make life easier for taxpayers and make the collection of tax more efficient.

John Hunt, Director at Orchard who presented the awards commented, We were extremely proud to be supporting an event that recognises IT and Tech in the North East region and very pleased to award not only one, but two inspiring projects showcasing great talent and innovation. Always an enjoyable evening.”
