Job Role

An exciting opportunity has arise for a Product Design Manager to join our successful software company. The role of a Product Design Manager will be challenging, interesting and extremely rewarding. This role will report to the Director of Development and Design, and will be responsible for creating an environment that enables the Product Owners and the User Experience/User Interface designers to flourish.

Principal Responsibilities


  • Line Manager for Product Owners and UX/UI designers
  • Member of the design and development management team
  • Representing how customers will use our product to internal teams
  • Working closely with Product Management to interpret roadmap requirements and plan the delivery of them
  • Ensure the outputs from their team such as user stories are to the required quality and completeness
  • Helping ensure sprints run efficiently and effectively to deliver the product
  • Assisting in providing content and product documentation
  • Helping triage and review items raised in the Ideas portal
  • Co-ordinating the Product Owners response to information requests and tenders
  • Ensuring the Privacy Impact Assessments are undertaken
  • May also be technical project manager on some projects


  • Required to attend the co-executive team days
  • Contributing towards the product strategy
  • Working with the respective user groups to help resolve business issues and be a feed for themes of feature requests to product management.
  • Recommending and helping implement process and framework improvements
  • Not being afraid to say no  and providing constructive feedback and recommendations for features / updates

Desired Skills

  • Exposure to agile frameworks (Scrum, XP, Kanban, Lean)
  • Understanding of Gherkin syntax for User Stories
  • Exposure to User Story Mapping, Impact Mapping, MoSCoW & SWOT
  • Experience of domain driven design
