The UK Business Tech Awards celebrate the UK’s finest tech businesses and rewards innovative and exceptional application of technology to transform and grow businesses. This year’s awards will feature 27 categories celebrating companies, individuals, applications, use of data, deals and transformation through technology.
The two Orchard nominations are:
Technology for Good – Income Analytics
When a tenant goes into rent arrears it is an incredibly stressful time for them. On top of this the introduction of Universal Credit in 2013 means that now instead of housing benefit being paid direct to landlords/housing associations, tenants need to manage their finances and pay rents themselves. This can be hard for some tenants to manage and can lead to them going into arrears. In some cases, Universal Credit claimants can make up to 25% of rent arrears. We created our Income Analytics solution to allow housing associations to identify at-risk tenants, using a powerful predictive analytics engine in order to help them out early to prevent arrears becoming unmanageable.
Transformation through Tech – Digital Self Service
Housing Associations find themselves under a lot of pressure to deliver a variety of services to tenants from a wide variety of backgrounds and education levels. In the past this has meant using a lot of resource dealing with tenant requests (around rent payments, repairs, anti-social behaviour etc) both in person and in call centres. Using our Digital Self-Service solution, it offers businesses the opportunity to move away from having to process all these requests manually and shift to a more automated, self-service model for tenants. This meant Orchard’s customers, such as GreenSquare could totally transform the way the operate. GreenSquare found that customer engagement costs £5 per transaction for telephone-based contact vs 5p for digital contact.
The awards are judged by an independent panel of some of the UK’s leading technology experts in a rigorous and robust two step judging process. Judges will be looking for tech innovation that has significantly impacted society and has made a lasting, positive change.
The winners will be announced during at a gala dinner and awards ceremony at the Montcalm Marble Arch in London on Wednesday 13 November 2019.
Keep your fingers crossed for us!
