Orchard raises £2,472 for Charity

On 30 October 2011 ten members of Orchard staff took part in a Zip Slide to raise money for the charity Breathtakers which is the UK's only charity supporting Obliterative Bronchiolitis(OB) - a rare lung disorder.  They launched from the Tyne Bridge, 25m above the river, before travelling 250m and landing in HMS Calliope, in support of ex Orchard colleague Fiona Phin’s son William who suffers from this disorder.

Breathtakers offers practical and emotional support to sufferers and their families and raises awareness of the condition amongst professionals. OB is life limiting, treatment is only supportive and lung transplant maybe an option in end stage disease.

We are delighted to announce that £2,472.50 was raised, in total, completely smashing our target of £500.
